JVC APARTMENT COMPLEX IN DUBAI
This 14-storey building is part of an integrated development in Jumeirah Village Circle, a fast-growing area of Dubai. The project inherits the best features of the UAE's modern residential architecture: a striking external appearance and active façade forms are combined with the desire to provide maximum protection from the sun through the planning solutions.

One- to two-bedroom flats dominate in the building. The upper floors are the penthouses. The façades are flanked by a series of spacious balconies that act as a buffer zone between the street and the dwellings. The flats are elongated and the rooms are oblong in shape. This design feature provides ample shade and a comfortable microclimate throughout the day.
On the first five floors there is a retail area and a parking area in the form of a sloping ramp. The top level of this part of the building also serves as an inner courtyard with a pool and sun loungers - a decision dictated by the fact that the development fills the plot almost entirely.
The building has a rather massive silhouette. For this reason the facades of the complex are visually divided into several sections: a car park, a corner section and an intermediate section. The entrance to the lobby of the residential part of the building is marked by solid glazing with concrete supports in the form of inverted trapezoids.
By arranging the flats in the lobbies of each floor it was possible to project natural light: it streams through the corner glazing overlooking the inner courtyard.
