Gymnasium in Moscow region

The main vault with maximum height of 9.6 m and the structure of glued arches and ETFE roofing envelopes the athletic field and some external spaces. It was important for architects not to create a usual hangar. Therefore, they grouped facilities in a few blocks to spread it in an asymmetrical composition and interrupt the solidity of vault. The transparent surface is skewered with 1-storey “boxes” finished with wooden planks, so it creates some collateral sub-coordination across curved and rectangular parts. Additional accent of composition is the 3D-curved wooden arch above one of the terraces.
