A composition of two cylindrical shelving units made of bent plywood, with oval openings for storage. The silhouette of the object changes depending on the rotation of the units, which are set on a hinged platform, creating a living image of mass and void. The shelving units are made of flexible ceiba plywood bent around circular shelves. They are finished with veneer on the outside and paint on the inside.
The aim of creating design objects at ATRIUM Architectural Studio is to bring art into everyday life. The object complements the studio’s dynamic contemporary interiors and can also become a distinctive and expressive element in other projects.
Small-batch and bespoke production makes it possible to create an unlimited range of visual variations in different colours and veneers. The shelving unit can be used individually or in combinations of several pieces, making it suitable for both small apartments and shops, as well as spacious public interiors.
The shelving units were presented at the Habitat exhibition at MMOMA and at Invented and Made in Russia at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Moscow.
