To mark its 30th anniversary, ATRIUM studio presented the book “ATRIUM Vocabulary. Dictionary of Architecture” (TATLIN Publishing House) as part of the exhibition “Dictionary of Modern Architecture”. The nearly 600-page publication includes texts, photographs, and visualizations of architectural projects, drawings, and diagrams, collectively forming the authors’ understanding of contemporary architecture. It took 6 years for ATRIUM studio founders and chief architects Anton Nadtochy and Vera Butko, along with art director Sergey Nadtochy, to create this book, during which they, together with a large team, managed to produce a unique edition of a modern architectural dictionary.

«ATRIUM Vocabulary.

The book consists of 5 sections, titled with Latin letters T, R, I, U, and M, each describing five dictionary terms in Russian starting with that letter, including Team, Research, Identity, User Experience, Morphology, and others. The letter A, embossed on the cover, sets the overarching theme for the entire book: Architecture as Art. Each of the five sections also has its own layout, emphasizing a specific aspect of the professional craft: teamwork, research, image search, user experience, and form manipulation.

“The book is a study based on self-reflection and an author’s perspective on the profession, as well as formulating universal principles and theses underlying modern architecture,” says Anton Nadtochy, co-founder and chief architect of ATRIUM studio.
